Annabel Ward's House

This was from a personal project together with a friend, to visualise some scenes from the book "Lockwood & Co. The Screaming Staircase" written by the Author Jonathan Stroud.

This is from the opening of the first book, Annabel Ward's house, which is engulfed in flames, just before the main characters jump out of the window, into the hedges to escape the blazing fire.

This painting started, using a 3D blocking, on top of which I sketched over it.
Then as the base and elements were clear it has been again over painted with light as focus to achieve the desired mood, I then gradually inserted textures in Photoshop and painted over it.
